Go on, you know you want to. Sheep farms are great for selfies, those cutsie shots for your Facebook profile, and so on. There are real sheep around, naturally, but unlike the Swiss sheep farm near Hua Hin, the sheep are far from the main attraction. Bring your cameras and any fun props you might have with you, but know there are plenty more to go around here.
Enter through the gift shop / coffee shop , then make your way to the photo areas:
This is perhaps a great third or fourth date, when it’e time to add those oh-so-cute pictures to your profiles. Open up the doors or windows and break out the DSLR (or the smartphone, if that’s your main picture-taker)
Same thing here, just with a bit more of a facade. There isn’t a whole lot more to most of these ‘buildings’, and they serve as a border to the park. Get your Instagram shots or keep walking towards the main attraction: actual sheep.
Pick up a handful of grass for a nominal 20 baht and guarantee you’ll be surrounded by the sheep. The pen is plenty big, and you can let the sheep chase you if you want. Do have a camera ready, however — that handful of grass may be gone faster than you think.
While in the sheep pen, pick a language — any language — for your next few photos.
Like their Facebook page, if you want, or just get a picture with you and the giant thumbs-up.
Or, get your pictures with the 5 meter tall sheep. The signs you saw in several languages are just left of the sheep.
Have a seat and take in the bat wings or a few of the other walls around the area.
Rounding out the weirdness is the chandelier made of plastic spoons. Not pictured here is a coffee shop and mini cafe, right next to the souvenir store. My only complaint here: things are a bit overpriced, even for a souvenir store. That said, it’s both free to enter and take in all the fun stuff outside. It won’t be much fun if it’s raining, though that might be an appropriate time to try out the sheep’s milk, sheep’s ice cream, or the Sheep Placenta Intensive Facial Serum.
As an oddball destination, it’s pretty weird alright. It’s not quite as weird or large as the aforementioned Swiss Sheep Farm, but it is much easier to reach from northern Thailand / Chiang Mai. It’s best with your boyfriend/girlfriend or a small group, but don’t come here on your own — it’s just more fun with someone else. Make this a part of any stop to Lampang, be it a daytrip or a weekend trip.
