The flower is usually called a spider lily in English (Lycoris radiata, I think). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lycoris_(genus)
Some interesting stuff there about its symbolism in Asia that I didn't know, and I guess it explains the title of the Taiwanese movie "Spider Lilies" as well.
